What is it?
I've had this carving/tool for a long time without knowing what it is. I know it's not unique because I have seen another one. Plugged into the animal's mouth is a serated blade. I'm guessing the carving represents a dog, but I'm not even sure about that. The ears look to me like rabbit ears. Can someone out there clear up the mystery?

Hi from mal E (ephemeral-male), downunder. Pictured is a Pacific Island coconut husker or shredder. Mostly women use them, they sit astride them on the ground, their weight secures the stool into the ground giving the user a clear action towards the body, holding the coconut in both hands it is drawn over the blade as the coconut is rolled around and husked. I have about 7 different models in my stool collection - one great erotic one. I'll scan mine and post to the blog, give me a few days - I'm getting over a triple hernia operation at the mo!
