Added sparkle

Glittering glass eyes are often a nice touch on folk carvings. I have a carving of a man in a green jacket on my gallery site that also has glass eyes. The sparkle grabs your attention and adds strangeness, a quality I always like.

  1. I love how the grain of the wood makes contours on the face. Very nice.

  3. I agree that the grain is wonderful, almost like some Maori tattoo. Do you think there was also a (now missing) sparkling piece set into his necklace?

  4. Could be, Robert. I did not see that until you brought it up. Maybe I'll rifle through my wife's baubles and make a repair. She won't notice, I hope.
