He is risen


An assemblage from north Florida that combines the sacred and profane. Enlarge the top image to clearly see the photograph covered with writing citing chapter and verse, but only if you're not easily offended by explicit sexual images. Jesus rises from the woman's genital area; the bubble around his head says, "Why trouble be woman." In front of Jesus is a piece of coral, perhaps representing the stone rolled away from Jesus' tomb. Other decorative elements include a root vegetable preserved in a bottle, beads, twine, the African continent marked Freak, a scary/beautiful face, and a tin bird. Reserection.
